Programs and Events

April 5, 10 a.m.         Coffee with Monk

Get a unique perspective on local history. Join 99-year-young Pendleton native Monk Carden and his sidekick Bob Stangier for coffee and converstaion at Heritage Station.

April 15, 7 p.m.        A New Deal for America  

Living on the site of a Civilian Conservation Corps camp near Gibbon spurred Patty Baker to learn about the six camps that flourished in Umatilla County during the Depression years. At Heritage Station.

April 22, 7 p.m.       Jewish Pioneers

It will be a treat to welcome Jack Sanders for a return engagement, when he will share more of his findings regarding local Jewish pioneers.

April 29, 7 p.m.       People who have made history in Umatilla County

A recognition party for the 2008 youth poster artists opens this exhibit in the Pendleton Foundation Trust Gallery. Sponsor: Oregon First Community Credit Union

May 4, 2 p.m.           Restoration Spoken Here

Bill and March Holton, Helix, restore things. His business, Holton Secret Lab, specializes in automobiles, and she has redone their country home. This tour will showcase both. Reservations required by May 2. Call 276-0012. Free.

May 16 & 17            Whatsit? and Appraisal Fair

For the second year appraisers will be available to help you determine the origins and value of some of your family "treasures". Meet the experts and learn about their specialties at the Friday evening reception. Attendees are invited to bring an item that may be selected to illustrate their talk. Individual appointments on Saturday will provide verbal evaluations of your objects. Reservations required. $10 per object.  Sponsor:  Read and Bose, CPAs

May 31                       Century Farm Tour

The Century Farm Tour 2008 is heading South! Celebrate 100+ years of farming with the Kopp, Hemphill, Whittaker, and Gilliland families. A loop through Gurdane will spotlight additional historic sites. Reservations by May 16. $55/non member, $50/member. June 4, 7 p.m.           Caring for Your Photographs--workshop

Richard Engeman, Portland, will explain how to care for your prized images of various types. Preregistration: $10/non-member; $15/member.
